Creating Value Through Collaborative Vendor Engagement

Advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) through collaborative vendor engagement refers to a strategic approach where organizations work closely with their vendors or suppliers to promote and achieve greater diversity, equity, and inclusion within their supply chains and business operations. It recognizes that organizations have significant influence and leverage over their vendors and can use this relationship to drive positive change and foster a more inclusive and equitable business environment.

The Third Place and The Portland Regional Chamber Collective Business Racial Equity Initiative invite members of The Third Place to join us for an exciting conversation and tasting event featuring Ben Conniff, Co-founder and Chief Innovation Officer at Luke’s Lobster, Benjamin “Moody” Harney, Founder of Mother Shuckers – the only oyster cart in Brooklyn as featured on the Netflix series High on the Hog: How African American Cuisine Transformed America, and Jackie Summers, Founder of Sorel Liquer – the first Blackowned licensed distillery in the United States post-Prohibition.

We will discover how these three brands have become connected through a more equitable form of vendor engagement and how each founder is creating new pathways for underrepresented communities through their company operations and charitable efforts.
