Expanding Access & Economic Opportunity in Maine's Outdoor Sector: A Community-Led Plan

Are you passionate about creating equitable outdoor access, sharing your nature-based skills and talents, enjoy outdoor sports and recreational activities, passionate about community-led food production or eager to connect with other Black, Indigenous, and People of Color in environmental-related professions? If so, you're invited to our monthly meeting of The Third Place ECO BIPOC Network.

Together, we're working towards expanding opportunities and fostering greater access and economic growth in the outdoor sector.

Special Guest Speaker: Shay Bellas of Navitour Join us for an informative discussion with Shay Bellas, a seasoned expert from Navitour – Maine’s go-to resource for guided tours and experiences. Shay will share insights into the exciting opportunities available to increase the number of BIPOC nature guides. Discover how you can be a part of this transformative movement that combines a love for the outdoors with economic empowerment.

Network Meeting: Following the presentation, we will engage in our regular network meeting. This meeting will focus on the preliminary vision of our plan to create a BIPOC-led, Black centered outdoor access plan. We'll collectively brainstorm, plan, and co-create strategies to enhance access to outdoor activities, normalize skill sharing, reduce redundancy, increase participation, identify resources and grow entrepreneurial opportunities for BIPOC individuals passionate about outdoor recreation and access.
