Winter Meet and Greet: A Look at Maine Law With Black Law Students Association

We invite you to a joint networking event with the University of Maine School of Law, Black Law Students Association, and The Third Place. Now located in downtown Portland, Maine Law is the school of choice for several aspiring Black lawyers. Maine Law and Black Law Students Association seek to ensure that the school and its students make meaningful connections in the BIPOC community at-large. These connections are critical to students feeling a sense of belonging in the community and remaining in the community for future employment.

This networking opportunity provides an opportunity to: learn about Maine Law's current and intended role in the community, welcome and support Black law students, view Maine Law's new home and meet new people. We will hear from other community and professional associations working to grow and sustain a thriving community of BIPOC professionals in law.

Remarks by Leigh I. Saufley, President and Dean of Maine Law, Adilah Muhammad, The Third Place Executive Director, and representatives from the BLack Law Students Association.

Stop in to enjoy delicious eats from two Black owned catering businesses - Soul Food Paradise and Black Betty's Bistro. Cash bar available.

This networking opportunity is open to professionals and college students who identify as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color and members of the Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce.

Registration is required.

Sponsored by: Maine Law, Dummond Woodsum, Berman and Simmons, Pierce Atwood, and Verrill
